Does anyone know of any respite where you can take your dog. I've no money. I can't stay here, especially over Christmas 😭 In Western Australia. I can't see anything and I got nowhere to go.

Hey @Trissy71 I am not sure of your situation or circumstances so just replying in case one of these may apply. I have referred a few people to Pets of The Homeless (https://www.petsofthehomeless.org.au/), as well as used Facebook Groups (search for groups like "Perth House Sitting" or "Perth Pet Sitting") where you can sometimes find individuals (like the example offering free sits in Dec/Jan) posting their availability. In the past I have found last minute pet sitting for my partner's dog when I was unable to look after him for a few weeks - hope this helps 🐕

Hey @Trissy71 , saying this with knowledge of some of your challenges expressed in other posts, if you are in distress or worried you could go to the ED with your dog. They may be able to help you with places/referrals for dog-care whilst you have some respite/recovery in a hospital if needed?
Not sure how you feel about this idea, i know a lot of people don't want to go to ED or also are worried they won't be allowed to take their dog with them. However if you are in acute distress at the time, i think they will still try to help you even if you can't leave your dog alone.
