These days there is a different attitude to spelling in the schools from when we were taught. Correct spelling had more importance.
Moving schools is always tricky but certainly not off the cards. I was moved once because of my father. I did not totally get it when I was in Grade 3, but now I do and I am alright with it. I liked my new school better anyway and stayed there 2 years.

I used to be a primary school teacher. Spelling was my forte. really encouraged good spelling and never missed correcting errors.
But my students missed out on good Art lessons. Suffered very dull Creative Writing lessons and Maths as well.
Maybe your child is getting a good deal in other subjects.
