Far and Away

Re: Far and Away

Ah that sounds rough fasting before a medical procedure! I hope it goes well tomorrow. Is it a big procedure? Good on you for finding enjoyable ways to distract yourself @TAB. Have you got more ideas for keeping busy today, as well as chatting with us? Smiley Happy

Re: Far and Away

No not a big procedure @Shimmer. As for other things making sure I'm ready for tomorrow and nothing physical as bit depleted re food. Prob just talking to people in 'real' world and warming lounge to be honest, prob a few notes to self re things could should be doing to make my life a bit more palatable..find myself worrying a bit too much lately. Action seems to help re that. So some sort of short term strategy methinks

Hi @Decadian .... good thinking with those potatoes .... and I'm sure you can't look at a potato the same way again ....

You're so right @Faith-and-Hope

I really do not like potatoes - unless they are chips - even then they have to be "juuuuuuuuuuust right"

@TAB - tell on about your army food stories - you can't go that far and stop - that's against the Mates Rules of Story Telling

Okay - when I first started going around to my htb's family for dinner I was not feeling very well one evening - and drank a lot of tea I remember - trying to wash down the strange dry stringy baked meat other people just ate. It was horrible

After dinner I asked my bf what on earth that was - ah - baked rabbit

Baked rabbits - no fat on the little b*gg*rs - and game - I shot a lot of rabbits and we ate them - and I could taste the game - but my mother made them into a stew and added a bay-leaf for flavour - the stew was edible

Ah - my MIL was not much of a cook

Re: Far and Away

sorry, that is a bit rough but couldn't help myself. Gymnast's do that lol
No, I start my clear fluids lunchtime, not looking fwd to the drink. How you going for transport and supervision after. They won't do it if I don't organise that they said. I have a friend who's helping. Really taps into my sense of abandonment when I have trouble finding someone to help in need grr
Not thinking straight right now, just hot bad news my uncle took a turn for the worse and is non responsive in hospital, spoke to my fav aunt, she's beside herself gathering family, horrible, and reminds me. It is hard to know what to say but "I'm thinking about f you, praying for you" left her crying. Rang mum (her sister) but mum spent the whole time complaining about dad "driving her f# crazy..." and she had to take another call or something.
I feel sick.

Re: Far and Away

Self-Care @Shimmer, sit with the pain, acknowledge it, be gentle with myself blablabla, seems to work. Started my clear fluid diet for same thing as Tab + gastroscopy tomorrow arvo. Anxious since nurse rang and prattled off art the complications. And have a little ptsd with strangers piking around grr but she assured me I'd be under before they start. Anyway, betta get back to my thread for this stuff, thanks Shimmer 🙂
