Diary of wifes hospital stay - holding it together for our family

Re: Diary of wifes hospital stay - holding it together for our family

Do what you can @Determined. You need to balance what needs to be done in terms of your uni work with your family responsibilities. Don't be shy to ask for help if you need it.

Re: Diary of wifes hospital stay - holding it together for our family

Darling has a bee in her bonnet and is demanding to be sent home. Thinks she is fine. It wont be before Friday, she has been told that, I cant see anything changing by then unless a miracle happens.

Seems to me she is just anxious about the house and not the people in it. Things are jot done the way she wants them and the world is going to end... that is a clear indication to me that she is far from well.

Re: Diary of wifes hospital stay - holding it together for our family

@Determined, do they have a family appoinment before sending Darling home next friday xx

Re: Diary of wifes hospital stay - holding it together for our family

I hope so  @Shaz51

Was supposed to last time but they did it without me and sent her home far too early with out any plan in place. If they had kept her in a little longer last time we may have been able to avoid this admission. Was quite upset at the time, I was suposed to be included but doc came early and left before I got there, she had her bags packed ready to go. Its not like I can just refuse to bring her home.

Re: Diary of wifes hospital stay - holding it together for our family

Saw my darling briefly this morning, was all excited that the dr has approved her coming home on Friday.   Just love it how I am included in these discussions, too bad if  there are no supports in place at home. At no point have I been asked what I think about my darlings progress or how I think she would go at home.

It will be nice to have her at home. I am just concerned about the timing.

@Determined

I do not know if private health facilities have to adhere to the mental health statement of rights and responsibilities. Don't know how you would find out, but if they do I would be raising concerns.

@Determined
Communication is so important. Before saying anything, I found that putting my concerns in writing meant I could go over them, ensure what I was saying was respectful.
