Re: 5 Day Online Event! You Are Not Alone - Crisis Advice for Family, Friends & Carers

My name's NatureLover, and I have lived experience of 3 suicide attempts when much younger, plus a lot of suicidal ideation throughout my life. Thankfully I haven't had any for about 12 years now. Since joining the SANE Forums earlier this year, I have found myself drawn to trying to support people who are struggling with suicidal ideation, and it's not easy.

The YANA resource provides an excellent reference point for finding support as a carer. When I was at my worst, I had no idea what support was out there, and now that I find myself in somewhat of a caring role, I am grateful for this resource. It's a realistic tool outlining what you can expect when going through this traumatic, exhausting and difficult experience. It has useful information about what to do in an emergency, at the hospital, when the person comes home again, and finding support after that.

I am enjoying being a new Community Guide, and I think the thing I like most is making connections with people.

Glad you like the wheel function, @Former-Member .  The information is laid out pretty clearly, isn't it...

this is very true @NatureLover@nashy , @Former-Member

I had no idea what support was out there

and with my experience, I don`t drive

so I had to find where they took my husband

found him the next morning 70km away in a bigger hospital

to read this resources is really good
